1. Direct Support Professionals: DSPs work with individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities to provide a safe and nurturing environment, positive and productive interactions, and a strong sense of independence and inclusion. The ideal candidate is able to be encouraging and supportive, and also empathetic and patient. We are looking for Direct Support Professionals in both our Community Living and Day Services Programs. Our group homes are located in South Holland, and the day programs are in Dolton, South Chicago, and on the East Side of Chicago. A high school diploma and driver’s license are required. Good writing skills and an aptitude for developing relationships are preferred. Training will be provided.
2. Home-Based Self-Directed Assistants/Qualified Intellectual Disabilities Specialist: QIDPs serve as resources, advocates, and partners for the individuals we serve, their families, public agencies, and service providers, maintaining an active caseload, and performing documenting, reporting, and billing functions. Salary commensurate with experience, plus benefits. A bachelor’s degree and a driver’s license are required. Good writing skills and an aptitude for developing relationships are preferred.
3. Manager of Community Day Services: The Manager supervises the CDS program, establishes program objectives, trains and manages staff, coordinates daily schedules, works closely with consumers to evaluate needs and develop desired outcomes, facilitates communication between consumers, families, and residential centers, prepares reports, and performs other duties as assigned. Salary commensurate with experience, plus benefits. A bachelor’s degree; three years’ experience in DD services, special education, or rehabilitation; QIDP certification; and a valid driver’s license are required. An aptitude for developing relationships with developmentally disabled adults and their families, good writing and organizational skills, computer and internet literacy are all necessary.
