South Chicago Parents and Friends, Inc. is a 501(c)3 non-profit agency dedicated to improving the quality of life for persons with intellectual and developmental disabilities, and to providing support and solutions for those who love and care for them. We develop options and create opportunities that enable our consumers to learn, to live productively, to work in rewarding jobs, and to value themselves and their roles in society.
SCPF originated in the 1970s when a small group of parents and friends on the southeast side of Chicago recognized the need for engagement for family members with IDDs. They joined together to seek and initiate quality programs and services that not only challenged, motivated, and inspired their loved ones, but also helped their communities to recognize, integrate, and appreciate diversity.
Today, South Chicago Parents & Friends assists over 500 individuals and their families all over the south and southeast sides of Chicago and its southern suburbs under the guidance of a Board of Directors comprised of dedicated volunteers.
Want to Help?
We could not do what we do for the individuals who rely upon us without the support of so many others. Sponsors, donors, and volunteers all play an integral part in our ability to provide enriching opportunities in safe and engaging environments for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. EVERY contribution matters greatly to us, whether it be an item for raffle, craft supplies for the CDS, a turn on the grill at our Consumer Picnic, or a Vibranium Level Showcase Sponsorship. Spend some time perusing our support options and let us know if we can answer any questions. Thank you for considering joining us!
